Jason Siebert killed in car crash, please pray for family

A dear family friend of ours Jason Siebert was killed in a tragic car accident this weekend. For those of you that know the family, please pray for them in this time of grieving. He was an innocent by-stander and as he was driving through an intersection he was hit by a car that was in a high speed chase. This happened in Long Beach where he was living.

Our family has been friends with theirs since 5th grade, and my parents are very good friends with Steve and Debbie. Jason was loved and will be remembered by so many. I was in Oddysey of the Mind, band, and choir with him in grade school, jr. high and high school. Many fun memories of World finals, Santa Cruz band trip, Disney Land fun, and good times at the cabin to name a few. He would always make you laugh and feel special, and was never lacking of something witty to say.

My Dad is driving down to Long Beach with them today to be a support person / driver as they go to collect Jason and his belongings. Please pray for them all. It is so hard to know what to say when someone is in the midst of such pain, we are grieving with them as they grieve.

The family is planning a service here on Saturday at Clovis Hills church and next Tuesday in the L.A. area. The details are still tentative.

*** We are setting up a website at www.JasonSiebert.blogspot.com. Pictures and memories will be posted there as well as service details. If you have a special memory of Jason or condolenses you would like to share with the family the best place to do so would be at that blog.

Jason Siebert was a vital, loving and exceptional force. I had the deep and lasting pleasure of mentoring him at OCPAC during his first several years there. His dedication to truth, human and emotional growth and professional and personal excellence is inspiring to all of us who knew him. I am so saddened for his beautiful parents who deserve our thoughts, prayers and hopes- Mitchell

Thank you for your kind words, I know the family will appreciate reading them. A blog site in celebration of Jason's life is being set up at www.JasonSiebert.blogspot.com. Feel free to look there for service times, pictures and memories shared.

I worked with Jason at Disneyland and he was a wonderful, charismatic guy. He always had a smile on his face and was more than willing to help either a fellow Cast Member or Guest. I will keep him and his family in my prayers. We have truly lost an amazing person and he will me missed.

On Behalf of The Alley Cats, I would like to let the family, friends, and colleagues of Jason know he was much loved, appreciated and respected by all of us. He was always working to make things easier for us and the school he brought our music to. The news of his passing shocked and saddened us. Should there be anything we can do please don't hesitate to call upon us.
With Heavy Heart,

My daughter, Natalie Pierson Gamble, was Jason's roommate for two years (when he purchased his home in La Habra). When Natalie received the sad news Saturday morning, a little bit of her world slipped away forever.

What has sutained Natalie in the last few days is the recognition that someone like Jason comes along but once in a lifetime. We all feel privileged to have known him.

Natalie has many very touching and funny Jason stories and it is these stories that will keep Jason alive in our minds forever. She would like to share some of them at his service.

Natalie also spent time with Jason's Dad when he came down to visit. She was very touched by him, also.

Jason, we will miss you and love you forever.

We are absolutely shocked and deeply saddened by his passing. I just had a meeting with Jason at Roger Anton Elementary this past Friday, and as we almost got down to business, I had realized I hadn't greeted him with a hug (the norm). I stood up and walked to him and said "hi Jason", hugged him, and we got down to business. For those of you who don't know, Jason was an amazing soulful artist and arts advocate and he taught many of us artist who are a part of the Arts Teach program at Orange County Performing Arts Center how to be more effective in our educational programs for youth.

His passing is a great loss for us all. An inspiring soul, he motivated, encouraged us to be better teachers. I'm devastated and my eyes have not dried. My wife is also shattered and we feel fortunate enough to have each other to comfort ourselves during this time of profound grief.

Our hearts and prayers go out to his close colleagues Ginger and Shannon, and especially to Jason's family. Please know that Jason will continue to live in our hearts as we strive to bring our art to the world to make positive change in the lives of our audiences young and old.

If we can do anything for the family, please let us know. We would be happy to donate a dance to a charity in his name or just anything.

Lovingly,
C. Derrick Jones and Nehara Kalev

I am sure it was done with good intentions, however, I find it very inappropriate and disheartening that someone would come to this site mentioning the suspect. A good, loving family or not does not change the fact that the world has been robbed of the incredible man we love. Your pleas for forgiveness should be made on a site set up for the suspect. This site is for Jason's family and friends only and that should be repected by all who visit it.

I deleted a comment that was about the other driver. I wrote the original post about Jason for his friends and family. I am sure like Jodie said the other commenter had good intentions, and I am very sorry for the pain that the others involved are feeling, but let's just keep the comments posted here about Jason. Thank you.

(To the commenter, I would have just emailed you directly, but I wasn't able to since you were listed as anonymous).

Jason was a dear friend of mine from Biola. I am sorry that I won't be able to attend his service. My prayers are with you all. The world is a little more dark without him, isn't it.

our time was short that we had together
but now that your gone it feels like its been forever
i watched you grow up
and you watched me when i was young
you were sweet with a heart of gold
so much talent no one could comprehend
i miss you very much, no one can understand
i wish i could have hugged you goodbye
and tell you to have fun in heaven
im not saying bye
i just want to let you know
that even though i didnt see you too much
you always meant a lot to me though
so wait for me up there
and have God save me a spot
tell grandpa i miss him a lot
just because your gone doesnt mean your not in my thoughts and prayers
you will be in my heart for ever, Jason
love always and forever, nicole
